| UPDATE 3/29/10 - We have found the greastest pet in Ana! She is so lovable and we can't imagine not ever having her!
When we took Ana to the Vet for her yearly checkup she weighed in at 70lbs!!! That is 15 more lbs than she weighed when we took her home. She loves being here with us and always loves company. She is a big fan of sleeping in our bed.... gets kinda hard on the work nights! She has even figured out how to roll down the sheets and get under the covers!! She has a lot of personality and she is so fun to have around. Recently, Ana has been taking home rocks and balls of any sort just to kick around downstairs! She loves to play and is very friendly with all the children and other dogs in the neighborhood. She whines when she sees kids playing or other dogs outside as she just loves and adores company! She has a great friend named Baldwin (chocolate lab) in which they are a very good match and very compatable with each other. They love playing outside and getting dirty and muddy on the ground. They see each other quite often and can't get enough of each other.... It seems like we have had her for such a big part of our lives already... we cannot believe it is shortly over one year. She is the best friend that we were looking for and so glad we found! UPDATE 2/18/09 - Ana has been the highlight of our month! She has worked her charm and she gets all the attention!!! We love taking her to the park and playing in the snow with her. She comes along on car rides and walks with us. We get many comments on how beautiful she is and is goes right to her head! She prances around outside, jumps over puddles, can't get those paws wet!!! She loves meeting new people and enjoys the company of other dogs in the neighborhood. We are getting her obedience training started soon in March and are excited to get that going. We feel she will do really ell. She is very smart and alert. She does well with commands already. Can't wait to let you know how she is doing next. UPDATE 1/25/09 - We took Ana home last Saturday. She has been adjusting to her new home just fine. She is very comfortable with us and she has met most of our friends and family! She has many admirers and loves all the attention!! One of my friends was at our house the other night with her 4 mo old and Ana did great!!! Ana was wonderful with a baby in the home. We are so proud of her she has come a long way already. She goes for walks very frequently and has made a lot of new friends here!! She loves to play with Jeter, Sammy and Martini!! Her personality is really starting to come out and we adore every minute with her. We are also signing her up for some classes for obedience training. She went to a doggie socialization class yesterday and was very friendly with the other dogs!! She has a wonderful heart and a beatiful soul. Thanks for giving us such a inspirational pet. 1/17/09 - Anaheim had been adopted! 12/18/08 - Anaheim...aka Anna-Bananna....is at her foster home here and adjusting quite nicely... Maggie and Maxi are each trying to figure out where this young whipper-snapper came m.....Anna is fascinated with Maxi and just wants to snuggle with her.....and talk about a chow- hound!!!....you'd think she hasn't eaten in a week.....she already earned the nick name "pig-gut"......she is so innocent and sweet and I think once she adjusts to her new surroundings and settles in, she will make someone an awesome best buddy!....here are a few first night pics.....she's skinny and boney right now but $20 says she'll be back to normal weight in no time..... 12/17/08 - Anaheim is another victim of the bad economy. Her family lost their home and had to move to an apartment that did not take dogs. Ana spent the last few days alone in the empty old house, only getting checked on every few days. She will be safely back in rescue tomorrow night. UPDATE 1/14/07 - Ana (short for anaheim) stole our hearts away, the first time that we met her. She's bout 14 weeks old now and has learned a lot from my two children; Maddox who is 1 and Kayla who is 8. We still have to get her spayed, and have to enroll in obedience classes too. She does love socks and likes to steal them, just like foster mom warned us. I find random socks all over my house; but I have been getting used to her favorite hiding places. She has a bit of sarcoptic mange, and she's on her second dose of revolution so she's a lot less itchy now. Maddox and Ana love playing tug of war with her toys, its quite cute because they have about 12 teeth between the two of them. I'll update more when I get a chance! Thanks for an awesome boxer that has settled into our lives perfectly and made our home feel even more complete! 12/28/06 - Anaheim was adopted! 12/1/06 - I spent the day Saturday picking up Vespa along with her 4 babies & a bunch of other dogs. They came up from a high kill shelter in Virginia, thanks to their special friend Mitch who drove several days to save them all from death! Thanks Mitch! Vespa is a very sweet flashy brindle boxer girl with natural ears and tail & about 2 years old We do think she is purebred & just not great breeding, so she has a little longer nose. She definitely is boxer-sweet & sure can wiggle that tail of her's like crazy!! She is ALWAYS happy!! Guess she has a lot to be happy for & she is glad to be safe with her 4 babies (Carolina, Ranger, Anaheim & Philadelphia). |
