| UPDATE 12/15/09 - Bella (II) is doing great. She is a fantastic addition to our family. Bella thinks she is a lap dog and will not stop licking us "to death". No matter where anyone is sitting on the couch, she thinks she has to be in the middle which is alright with me because she keeps me nice and warm. She absolutely LOVES to go for rides! She's mostly an angel but sometimes chews things that are not hers to let us know she is not happy about being left alone (even if it is only for 2 hours!). It is funny to watch her throw her dog bone up in the air and then "chase" it. We love her so much-she has definately found her forever home! 11/14/09 - I was adopted today! 10/15/09 - Bella is making great progress in becoming a well adjusted pup. She is still sometimes slightly nervous when meeting new people, but she quickly warms up to anyone who is confident with dogs. She has made enormous progress since she came to us in May and is turning into such a wonderful, fun, loving, little girl. She is, without a doubt the sweetest, most loveable dog I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Wherever you go, this little girl wants to be with you. She curls up around my feet when I work at my computer and loves to snuggle on the couch. She truly is most happy when she can be with her people. Please consider adding this little girl to your family. Bella Bean needs a home to call her own! 8/21/2009 - I am happy to report that Bella is a completely different dog than she was three months ago! The change in her demeanor and attitude is astounding, she has truely evolved into a well adjusted and confident girl!!! My mother-in-law and sister-in-law came up to visit last weekend and Bella was an absolute doll, no growling, no snapping and no anxious behavior to speak of. She greeted them both like she had know them forever and spent a great deal of time showing them how cute and loveable she is (she spent most of the weekend as an oversized lap dog). Her obedience skills are coming along nicely, although we are still working with her on stay. Bella Bean has had a rough start but with love and patience she is starting to really bloom and come into her own and she deserves a forever home that will love and spoil her. Please consider opening you heart and home to this sweet little girl. 7/13/09 - Poor Bella Bean she's wondering why on earth she doesn't have a forever home yet! Although Bella has some anxiety with strangers she is wonderful with "her" people, she loves to give kisses and cuddle with you on the couch. She was so funny the other day she was playing on the couch and rolled right off it, the look on her face was priceless! Bella continues to play well with the resident dogs and is making leaps and bounds with her basic obedience training. I also recently discovered that Bella Bean makes an excellent running and walking partner, no more pulling on a leash for this girl! She walks or runs right along with you happy as a clam and does quite well ignoring other dogs along the way with a few reminders. This sweet little girl needs a home to call her own. 6/14/09 - Bella is recovering nicely from her spay surgery on 6/3/09 and is now all set to be adopted! We are continuing to work with her on introducing her to new people and I'm happy to report that although she is wary of new people she is getting much better at greeting them. I'm also happy to report that after a rough first week of introductions she is finally comfortable enough to play with our two year old female, which is great because this little girl has energy to burn!!! Bella is going to need a forever family that is willing to move slowly with introductions to both new people and other dogs, she just needs a little extra time and reassurance in order for her to feel safe and comfortable. She is food aggressive with other dogs and does much better if everyone is kept separated at feeding time, however she is fine with people taking her dish while she is eating. This little girl loves to go for rides and let me tell you she makes a great co-pilot. She went with me to the feed store last weekend and she was great in the truck, she just curled up and put head in my lap and enjoyed the ride. Hurry and get you applications in for this sweet little girl!!! 6/1/09 - Bella has been with us for almost a week now and seems to be starting to settle in. She seems to be fairly well trained and does reasonably well on a leash but needs a bit of work when it comes to walking without pulling, for a petite little girl it's surprising how strong she is! She is an absolute love bug with my husband and I, but is very slow to warm up to strange people, she is very protective when a new people come into the house. My sister came to see her the other day and it took Bella 15-20 minutes to start to warm up to her, but by the time she left Bella was crawling all over her and licking her to death. She is going to need someone that is willing to work with her on this issue. Bella Bean is great about going into her crate, she settles right down and sleeps through the night without a peep. Bella will be going to get spayed on Wednesday and after she has sometime to heal this little gem will be ready for a new home! 5/25/09 - Bella arrived in NH this afternoon, thank you to everyone who got her here. She is a petite little girl that seems a little shy but with a little time warms up and becomes quite affectionate. More to follow as we get to know this sweet little girl. |
