| UPDATE 12/8/09 -
WE LOVE BO!! We love him love him love him!! He is a fantastic dog. He has mostly gotten over his food aggression - he's fine with our other boxer, Flash. If we have guests over, we just pick up the bowl. Seems to work fine. Bo is a HUGE snuggler and he and Flash have become fast friends. He loves the dog park and howls like crazy when he figures out that's where we're going. He's good on a training leash but can rip your arm out of the socket if he sees a squirrel. He can't help himself!! He stands at the door and whines when he sees them. Once the door is opened, he's off like a rocket to get them. He can't quite make the turn at the end of the yard and 9 times out of 10 he runs smack into the stockade fence. We've had to repair the pickets 2 times! It doesn't appear that he learns his lesson because every day he's back at it again. Everyone comments on how great of a dog he is - and we know it!! The pictures on the site don't do him justice! He's beautiful with soulful expressive eyes that beg you to love him. Thanks for bringing us together! 8/9/09 - I was adopted today 7-15-09- Hi, just a quick explanation on Bo's food issues. See, I free feed my dogs and this was not working out with Bo. Now we have scheduled meals where everyone is separated when they eat and once they have walked away from their bowl it gets picked up. I then try putting it down again around dinner time and do the same thing: when they walk away it gets picked up. There have been no problems with this method of feeding and everyone is happy! Bo went to the vet and received a clean bill of health! yeah!!!! Rabies and distemper/parvo are all up to date and he weighs in at 62 lbs. He also tested negative for heart worm! 7/10/09- Bo continues to do great! His food bowl issues are being resolved and he can now eat with the rest of the gang without being separated. I think he finally realizes there will be enough food for everyone lol! Still need to get him to the vet for shots because we did not receive a shot record with him so..... he needs shots so we have a record! Bo is a lover. He loves attention and will roll over to let you rub his belly. Right now he is chewing on his kong being silly with it. lol He is too funny to have around he keeps me in stitches with laughter. So if you're looking for a love bug and a clown, Bo is your man! 6/30/09- Well Bo is doing great!!! He is wonderful with the other 6, yes 6, dogs in the house, all though there may be some bowl growling, no fighting just growling so we are feeding him seperate. He does not like being gated off and will jump the gate to the room he is in lol!! Bo is a gentle and kind boxer loves licking the other dogs here and playing with Ice and Lilly! He is fitting right in with chasing the wild rabbits and whatever other critters get in the yard, he loves running in my big back yard. I was awaken by the dogs at 6 a.m. this morning to let them out and when they all came in Bo decided my lap was the place to be, needless to say i gave up the chair to him and went back to bed lol! I tried to put Bo in a crate just to see and he had no part of it and I didn't want to force him. We also found out that Bo is petrified of fly swatters, I was swatting a fly , he was gated and guess what he flew over that gate and cowered under my son till I put the fly swatter away! Poor baby so there is no fly swatting in the house unless he is outside. Today might be nice (no rain) so I might take him for a walk and see how he does around the neighborhood. Well once again get those apps in cause Bo is a keeper and wont be here for long!!! 6/24/09 - Well Bo has arrived and is a sweety. He loves all the other dogs through the gate and outside on his leash but we are taking it slow to let him loose. He is a beautiful fawn boxer boy with some white on his chest, he has a great head and i think he has a lot of filling out to do cause he his smaller than most boxers. I think he will go quick so everyone get your apps in for this one. |
