UPDATE 6/12/09 - Ya ho Brutus the little man has passed his testing and achieved his AKC Canine Good Citizens Program last night.  He and Cyrus (recently came to his forever home) are doing so well together.  Brutus has gained several pounds and loves to run and run.  He now comes when called off leach 95% of the time.  He has had a couple run in with the newly installed and trained to efence, but is seeing the limits.  He truly is the love of the house love to give kisses to everyone and oh ya Cyrus also.
I will be signing him up for off lead and clicker training which starts at the end of the month.  He is going to do so good in this class because he loves to show off what he knows.  Brutus has come a long ways in such a short period of time and everyone always want to take him home cause he is just so cute and well behaved.

UPDATE 4/22/09 - Brutus is doing very good overall.  Last night 4/21 he pasted his first basic program for obedience.  The reason I said first because he starts next week on his second class to earn his Good Citizenship on 4/30.  He wanted to keep going because he has had so much fun and he likes to see the other dogs.  He now allows other dogs to approach him and he also will sit or lay next to other dogs with no aggressive behaviors at all.  He stays at sit stays with me out of site and comes when called.  He comes when called 90% of the time still working on it.
We have almost completely switched his food over to a brand made for boxers for the known health issues with the breed.  I can say he loves the food and his coat has got very shiny with the new food.  Maybe also that he just loves having baths now with no struggling or pulling.
He loves to go places now as we are always on the go. On the weekend we bring him everywhere. This has made a major impact on his outlook thinking everything was going to hurt him.
I hope to take so nice picture of him soon, hope I post them here on the site.  We have already taken 100's but daily type. Really need a good portrait photo.

UPDATE 4/5/09 - Brutus is adjusting very well,he has been to the vet and got a clean bill of health. He is in his fifth week of obedience class and is doing good. We try to take him everywhere we go he does great in the car. He is still leary of peope and other dogs. He is such a great boy we are so happy that he is ours.

UPDATE 3/9/09 - Brutus is doing very well,he is so  very well behaved and listen to all our comands he has meet all the extended family and was perfect. I don't know how anyone could have given him up but we are glad they did. We know that we will have many years of joy with this guy!! He has been signed up for Obedience class starting 03-10-09 at American K9 Country in Amherst ,NH.  He is set for his first visit to the Vet. 03-20-09. Careing Hands in Manchester,NH. we will keep you updated.

3/6/09 - Brutus has been adopted!

1/30/09 -  A little background information:  Brutus was relinquished by his owner who stated he did not get along with their dogs. but all dogs were still intact so not sure if now that he is neutered that will change so for now we will say he would be better off as your only dog. He has started to de-stress but is still showing signs of being scared and skittish.  He shows no sign of any aggression and when walking on leash ignores the other dogs walking by.  He has an adorable smooshy  face that you will just fall in love with.  He sleeps through the night next to your bed and wakes when you do.  He is fine in the crate
but needs assistance getting in.  We are working on this. Brutus has a softness and sweetness that just radiates from him.  You can not help but fall in love with this guy.  He is ready for his forever home..

1/26/09 -  If you clicked on this write up then you saw just how beautiful this young boy is.  He arrived this afternoon and has already had a visit to the Vet's office for his check up before being neutered.  Brutus is very shy and I am sure just a little stressed out from being separated from his family but is doing remarkably well for just four hours into rescue.  Check back in a few days I will let you know how well he has settled in.
