| 7/29/09 - I was adopted today! 7/24/09 - Hi it's me, Chopper!! Okay, here is what I would like in a new home. Really active parents, like jogging, runs thru woods and trails, roller blading (course you're going to have to teach me that one). Lots of good food, I do love to eat, and a playmate who has as much energy as I do, yeah, that's what I want. And, and someone who will give me cookies when I'm good, and I am most of the time.... uh huh. And for all this I promise to love you, give you kisses and and oh yeah, I promise to always potty outside and go in my crate when you have to leave and and, oh yeah, I promise to be a good boy and learn at this place they say I have to go, yeah school, that's it. School, I promise to learn at school. Oh oh, here comes foster Mom, she says she has to tell everyone all about me. Okay, see you, my new family soon. <Foster Mom wrestles the computer back from pup> Chopper arrived into CT Tuesday, and what a beautiful boy he is, reddish soft silky coat, black mask, white toes on all 4 feet and white chest, natcural ears and docked tail!! He is approx 16 months old with the energy level to go with the age. He definitely needs some obedience training but will walk calmly on the leash when I keep his attention. We are taking intro's here slow because I have an older boxer girl, a "Mighty Boston" and 6 yr old boxer boy. Today he actually had the opportunity to meet my 6 yr old male outside in the yard (instead of thru gates) and boy did he want to play, and typical boxer boy, he can get rough. This was stopped immediately, they settled quickly enough and went back to running and boxing. Chopper is a good boy who just needs someone who is willing to put in the time and energy a typical boxer puippy boy needs. He would love a home that has the same type of energy he does, jogging, long walks, and lots and lots of play. If you are looking for a sweet boy who has the energy to keep up with your active lifestyle, this boy would fit that bill. He is a good boy who would definitely benefit from obedience training; the type that really pushes "discipline with positive reinforcement" and patient consistency. He knows sit, stay and down but can only do this for very short periods of time and his attention is drawn to something else. Typical teenager- only in a dog's body. He plays well with other dogs, but, again being a youngster can get carried away, a quick interuption of his attention and he will play "nice" again. He plays with my 86 lbs male, and my 24 lb Boston "mighty mouse" girl. She gives him a real run for his money. He respects my 10 1/2 older girl, but she will run with him a little bit. He is quick and agile and full of energy. Today he pushed the empty "kiddy pool" all around the yard, he could be a soccer star. I can't however guarantee how well the soccer ball would hold up. So, if this boy would fit your idea of fun and energy fill out your application now. 7/20/09 - Chopper made his way to my house today, long story, but so far he has walked relatively well on the leash, meet my dogs thru deck rails and baby gates and he seems unconcerned that they are around despite their excitement of seeing a dog. He rides well in the car, has a super soft redish coat, loved the fenced back yard, and seemed happy to stretch his legs some. Unfortunatly I had to leave for work an hour and half after his arrival, but he crated up quietly enough, verbally fussed a little, but settled down. A quick phone call home since reveals he has been quiet since I left. he is a sweet boy only 1 1/2 yrs old, neutered and up to date on his shots. |
