MEET:
ELSA => Shay
(Boxer/Black Lab Mix)
Back to Available Dogs
Return to SCBR Home
NOTE ** Because I am still a baby, I will only be placed in a home where someone is home often, such as retired, work at home, work opposite shifts, stay at home parents, etc.

UPDATE 8/27/09 - Shay is doing great!!!!  She is so well behaved and brings so much joy to the house.  She gets to go to the beach alomost every morning to run and play.  Boy does she love to eat crab legs (soft shell of coarse!!)  She is even venturing further into the water, maybe next summer she will be able to swim!   Shay has a boyfriend, Homer, that lives a few houses down...... they absolutly have a ball together.  Its amazing how much they like each other...
She is around thirty pounds now and the vet doesn't think she will get much bigger,  we sure wish we knew what breed dad was!!

UPDATE 6/2/09 - Shay is comfortably recovering from her spay which was performed 5/29.  At 5 months old she weighed in at 22.7 pounds, which seems to make her one of the smallest of the litter.  She is loving life, enjoys hanging out by the fire, loves the beach and all of the dog friends she finds there to play with.  She has slight separation issues which we are working to overcome.  We would love the opportunity to have her get together with her brothers and sisters, if you would like to contact us so that we can arrange a time please email me at tarahmathieu4@hotmail.com

UPDATE 4/25/09 - Shay is now 4 months old!  She is just an absolute joy in our house hold.  She is very playful and loves romping outside.  Loves playing frisbee.....but can not quite catch it yet!!  she is such a goof ball!!
Shay is weighing in around 18 pounds, she has a clean bill of health and has all her shots out of the way for this year.  Now all she has next is to get spayed.
She is in the Dances with Dogs tuesday and thursday pack and is loving it!  She has a thing for pugs, just loves playing and chasing them!!!!  Shay still does not like the rain....the little princess has to run out quickly and do her thing to get back inside!!! (it is quite funny)

UPDATE 3/18/09 - Shay is now 11 weeks old!!!
I changed the pups name to Shay, but kept Elsa as her middle name.  So Shay Elsa is doing very well.  She just loves her new sister smudge (our 5 year old kitty) They love to chase each other and play. She loves kids and is very gentle with them.  She also loves to get her belly rubbed, I think she could lay there all day!
We went to the vet today for her second set of shots.  She did great!!!!! She weighed in at 11.5 lbs and got a perfect bill of health.....
She loves going to puppy play group.  She interacts with the other puppy's very well....she is very even keeled, she isn't shy nor the most hyper of the group.
She is doing very well with her potty training.  No accidents in the house in over a week.  Loves being outside and romping in the snow.
We hired a local trainer (Elsa Larsen) to come out and give some one on one training to Shay. The first class is tonight..... Wish us luck!!

2/26/09 - Elsa has been adopted!

2/11/09 - Well the puppies are now six weeks old and growing like crazy. The runt of the litter is 5 lbs and the largest is 8.5lbs.  The others all weigh 6.5 to 7 lbs. They are running and playing like crazy and will be ready for their new homes soon. I will be having a Boxer Rescue Awareness Day at Petco in Auburn, Maine on 2-28-09 and plan to bring a couple of the puppies that are still available then with me. So if you want to meet the puppies drop in between 10am and 2pm!

1/24/09 - Here are the chosen names for the Name a SCBR Puppy Fundraiser for Hope's babies.   Thank you to the following people who donated $25 to name a puppy!  They were born on 12/31/08 to Hope and will be ready to go home on 2/25.   We think Dad must have been a black lab.
