| 1/10/09 Gabby arrived at here at her foster home on 1/4. She was not feeling well
at all. She was surrendered by her owners because they could not afford to take her to the vet and did not have a place to keep her. They knew she needed help. Gabby has been to our vet and been given all the care she could possibly need to bring her back to good health. Gabby will still need some time before she will be healthy enough to be spayed. At that time she will be ready to go to her new forever home.Gabby is a very special girl. She's lived where dogs shouldn't live, suffered in pain more than dogs should ever suffer, and come into rescue in a condition that is all too familiar to those who've been in rescue for years. Gabby's personality took some time to shine, but now that she is feeling better she is an absolute riot. She is super high energy. She loves to chase balls, play with rope toys, chew on a baby Kuz toy. Gabby loves toys that squeak. She is all about the play. There isn't a bone in this dogs body that doesn't emanate sweetness. She has tried to play with our cat, but he's 12 years old and just not all that interested, so Gabby finds something else to do. I remind her no kitty and it's as simple as that. Gabby is fantastic with children of all ages, all dogs, and all of the people she's met. She even met one in uniform and almost loved him into needing a clean uniform. Gabby is a complete ham. She has the boxer personality to a tee. She is so sweet and loving with a huge playful spirit. She is completely housebroken! She will wookie talk to you if you've forgotten to let her out enough. She also wookie talks when it's getting to be mealtime. Gabby has a bit of a fragile tummy right now, so she's been getting four meals a day. She will be able to be fed less often as she continues to gain weight and her belly settles down bit. We really have fallen in love with this little girl, and I do mean little. Gabby's weight is up to 51.2 lbs (gained 7 lbs in one week!) and she will continue to fill out but not get much bigger. Her giant soulful eyes will capture your heart and hold it forever. Gabby is the dog that will be grateful for everything you give her and return your love ten fold. She is such an angel even with all she's come through. Please let us know if you think Gabby might be the girl for you. |
