| 1/2/10 - I was adopted today! 12/12/09 - Well I'm here a month and a week and I' counting the day's 'till my forever home notices me. I'm a gorgous reverse brindle boxer if I say so myself (everybody who sees me says it). My foster dad is taking great care of me, we had a real feast for Thanksgiving, turkey and all the trimings. (i ate great for a week with all the leftovers, even cranberry sauce). The only down side is he makes me exercise to keep my great figure, but I'm really enjoying the waks and runs and the ball fetching. Sometimes we use a rubber bone and I fetch it then give him a hard time getting it back (I love that bone). I make him trade for a milk bone, I love them even more. He says I'm doing really good at doggie school. I walk by his side real close and sit every time he stops, I just don't like to lie down with all those other dogs around, but he makes me obey. I guess I'm a pretty good dog and will make someone very happy. I like to take charge sometimes but foster dad doesn't let me get away with it. If you read this, and are a good pack leader, I'm the gal for You! Give a shout and I'll come running( I'm really fast). 11/1/09 - Leala has come back into rescue due to an unexpected heath crisis in her new family. They hated to let her go, but they knew she'd find a great home with us. Good luck to them and we promise to take good care of her! UPDATE 9/2/09 - Leala is doing fine. She quickly realized that cats rule in this house and has had an "attitude adjustment". The vet says she's in great shape and she is the smartest dog in her class in obedience training. (No prejudice here.)She loved the ocean, especially jumping over the waves and never misses a chance to ride in the car. Overall she is adapting very well to her new home. 8/2/09 - Leala has been adopted! 7/18/09 - Hey, Leala here!! I love it here at my foster home. I am so spoiled here. I am definately a DIVA. I don't like having other animals to compete with..... but, I LOVE PEOPLE, big, small, anyone!!!! I do love little kids, but I just get carried away and jump on them. I would never be mean to them. I'm just young and very exciteable. I am an absolute lover. My foster mom and dad need to tell me when to stop kissing and licking them, they keep saying "ENOUGH". I really loving sleeping with them in bed. I usually start out in my bed and then make my way up, lol. I am especailly a snuggler in the mornings, I really don't like getting up. I have a great appetite. I love to play with toys. My foster parents laugh at me because I like the squeaky toys, but I especially like slippers and baseball hats. I grab then and then prance back and forth lika a DIVA should!! I do not bite them or chew them, I just hold them in my mouth like and walk around with it and then put it down and lay with it and sleep with it. I haven't chewed anything. I like to TRY and get in the trash and counter surf, but my foster mom is always one step ahead of me!!1 Geez, I wish she would lighten up!!! I love my new kiddie pool. I dunk my head under and put my toys in there and bounce on them. My foster parents laugh because they said it looks like I'm bobbing for apples. I love to walk and go for rides. I always go to Lowes and strut my stuff there. Everyone loves me there. We go often because I'm getting a new kitchen. Everyone comments how beautiful I am and how REGAL I look, what does that mean?? It means I'm a DIVA! I knew it!! I am an absolutely good and loving dog. I just can't live with other animals. I can meet them on the street, walking, or outside the house, but my house is my house. People and kids are a joy to have around but I want to be the talk of the house and be the primadona that I am. Should I settle for less???? hee hee hee I am very loyal and do listen and mind well when asked. When mom and dad say "no", it means no(!!). I have the run of the house all day while mom and dad work and I usually just sleep on my bed or their bed. There is one thing you need to know, though. My foster mom and dad started giving me a frosty paw ice cream cup every night while they eat supper and, I must tell you, I LOVE THEM!!!! Hopefully your home town sells them, YUMMY. I must say you won't find a more loving dog than me. Please adopt me if you don't have any other pets! You won't regret it, I promise you!!! 6/17/09 - Leala is a wonderful, beautiful, very loving dog! She is used to being the only dog and is spoiled. She no longer backs away when people enter the house. She continues to play with the neighbor's dogs with no aggression. She did show aggression to another dog while walking on a leash but stopped as soon as I corrected her. She gives kisses to everyone that comes in now. She sleeps well. She will tell you when she needs to go out. She sleeps on her bed all day while we are gone and does not get into anything. Wait, oh yeah, she will grab a shoe or something and put it on her bed to lay with, but does not chew it. She just wants to lay with it. Its so cute! I bought her a kiddie pool and she ABSOLUTELY LOVES it!! She goes in and pounces around and dips her head under. She is the great with no other dogs in the home. She loves her fenced in yard as she gets to go do what she wants when she wants. So if you have no other animals and love boxer kisses, she is definately the one for you!! 5/31/09 - Alright, so that didn't go so well. Leala came back to us. Leala needs to be the only dog in a home. She did not get along with the other dog in her new home. Leala is very dominant and persistant. She needs a home with no other animals or small children. She is great with my husband and I. She needs someone who will follow through with discipline. She is very strong for her size. If you have the time and home with no other animals, please send in your application. She is absolutely beautiful. 5/29/09 - Leala is on her way to her forever home. She has new wonderful parents. She has a 4 legged sister anxiously awaiting her arrival. She is already spoiled. They has a bag full of goodies, toys, treats, collars, etc. Another great adoption!!! 5/7/09 - Leala, my little Leala. What a beautiful 2 year old! She is the most LOVING dog, at time too loving, she just doesn't know when to stop kissing and licking you! She will do it all day if you let her. She is full of energy! What 2 year old isn't? She loves to play ball and run in the fenced-in back yard. Run? Boy, she can run! She runs so fast that she makes the turn and goes into a somersault and keeps going. When she is done she is full of grass stains, lol. She doesn't like being crated, but she goes in. She has graduated to having the run of the house while we are at work all day and has had no accidents at all. She loves going in the trash and surfing counters. But I have put the trash behind closed doors and nothing on the counter and she is fine. She doesn't get into anything else. She is now eating well and playing with toys in the house. She was a little timid but that is gone now. She loves visitors, adults and kids. She is very strong and doesn't realize how strong she is sometimes. She is a jumper and we are working on that. She loves kids but gets so excited she jumps on them and knocks them down. She will be out back running around and then come full speed at you or the kids, which is why she should be supervised with them. She absolutely loves everyone and doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She is over loving, if anything. She will literally get you down on the floor, straddle over you, and hold you down and lick you to death if you let her. She is sleeping in our bed with us and is a good sleeper, she doesn't snore either. Her goal in life is to be velcroed to your side. She wants to be wherever you are, inside, outside, in the car, in the store, etc. She loves going for rides. She is getting better at walking and not pulling so much. She had the pleasure of meeting my sister-in-laws two new 8 week old puppies, she LOVED them. She licked them and played but would get excited and be to rough so I would pull her back. She just sat there and watched them. She does listen when you tell her to sit. I have not had her around any cats or larger dogs yets. I know she can be sitting in front of the sliding door and see a cat go by or a bird and she will cry to go out. If I let her out, she is gone!!!! Today she took her last pill for her urinary tract infection. She is doing wonderful. No peeing in the house anymore, woohoo. Everyone that sees her comments how beautiful she is, which she is. More to come later. 4/28/09 - Our little Missy is IN HEAT and HORNY. She' "into" everything including my head, lol. Took her to the vet, weighs 55 lbs. She was very well behaved with other dogs in the waiting room. She is now up to date on all shots.. She also has a bad urine infection. She is on antibiotics for 10 days. She can't be spayed for 3 weeks. Her spay date is 5-20-09. Took her for a walk today and she was very good. We passed a few dogs and she could care less. VERY NERVOUS around peope until she gets to know them. Not interested in any type of treats at all. Very picky eater. LOVES TO BOX. I have never seen a boxer box like she does. So it will be a little before she can go anywhere. She is the cutest little thing!!! 4/17/09 - Leala has arrived. She is a very pretty, tall and trim girl. She knows some commands, but like most 2 year-olds, she has a hard time controlling herself. She has been good with all the people she has met today, but has become aggressive with my older boxer through the crate. She is crate trained, although its not her favorite place, it works for now. She smells like she's been skunked recently. She enjoyed my giving her a shower and let me give her three, but she still has that undertone of skunky smell. More as I get to know her and she gets to her permanent foster home. |
