- Web Chick: I met Miss Amya this afternoon. What a sweet girl!! She's so gentle and loving. She's made her self at home with her foster family and tags after her foster dad everywhere. Poor baby spent some time in a kennel before her transport, so she got a bad sunburn on top of her head that's now peeling. She has a new little stuffie toy along with her blankie. She loves to have you throw it and chase after it, tries to catch it in the air, then dares you to take it before you can. It was so funny, I caught this game on film.
#1- Here's my stuffie I carry around in my mouth. I'm not going to let you have it.
#2- Ok maybe I'll just lay it down a little right here...
#3- I'm watching to see if you'll play along and try to take it....
#4- Maybe I'll even back up a little to make you think I'm really not paying attention
#5- PSYCH! I WAS paying attention and you're not gettin' MY STUFFIE! Ha ha (sounds more like snoring through the stuffie in her mouth, but I could tell she was laughing!)
#6- Hey! Wait! Don't you want to play that game again??

10/6/10 - Amya came to us from a shelter in North Carolina that we've worked with in the past. She's had quite a week getting up here, but her journey isn't over yet. She's just on a layover in NJ until the weekend when she hops another transport to Maine. It is reported that she's good with other dogs, lived with toddler-aged children. Sadly, the family has lost their home and can't bring her to their new apartment. She is a little stressed out now, and confused, but she's travelling with her "blankie", which means the world to her, so it should help her settle in quickly once she's in her real fosterhome- back with kids and a couch to snuggle on. Stay tuned!
