6/25/10 - Hey Everybody! My name is Emma and this lady came by the house today when I was laying out in the back yard. She knew my name and was taking these pictures of me. She was really nice and came in my yard to pet and play with me. Then, she came back later with this big guy who looks almost like me! We went for a walk together and I was kinda hurt because he didn't seem to notice me! But then, after he peed everywhere... sheesh, men!.... he looked at me and wanted to play! Yippeeeee!!! No one else there would box with me!
The next thing I knew, the lady was taking TWO leashes down from the fence, not just his! I couldn't wait to see what was next! So we drove for a little while and she took me to this new house. There were two other dogs there, but she let me check out the house first by myself. She took me outside with them and walked around the backyard and I met everyone else. How much fun!! There's a big black dog who wants to play all the time! Between him and the other big guy, I get to play all I want! I even found this whole basket full of things to play with! Just now I've been watching the traffic go by out the front door while all the other dogs are doing something or other out back. The lady called me over and wanted me to do silly stuff like sit, give her a paw, and lay down. Sheesh... gimme some hard stuff, will ya? Actually, I didn't know what she meant by that "paw" thing, so I licked her instead.
This place is pretty cool. Everybody ate a little while ago, but I was still too excited to eat, so I just nibbled like a proper lady. The lady says she has a niece I'll get to meet. I love love love kids, so I hope she comes over soon! I hope I get to stay awhile, but the lady says she's going to help find me a forever home because I'm just too pretty and polite for her to keep to herself. Well, of course that's true, and I'm a dainty lady on top of all that, so I'm sure there are lots of folks who are going to want me soon. Until then, I'll be right here... I think a nap should come next.

FOSTER MOM'S NOTE: What a stinker! Walks in the house and commandeers the computer?? This girl is so sweet and polite. She's only barked at people driving in the yard, like a good girl should. She is such a little peanut, but always on the move, so its hard to show you in pictures how little she is. (Her entire head is about the size of a man's fist.) She's on the move but, right now, its more diligence than playing- keeping watch. I think she'll be a great player, though (if my two teenage pups have anything to say about it). She winces when you raise a hand over her head, so I think she's been hit in her past. That doesn't stop her from sitting right by my knee... the sliding down my leg for a snooze... and licking my toes. She discovered rawhide chews tonight and she was beside herself!!! What a catch this little one is!!

All I can say is this little girl is perfect. She is incredible house manners. Will not get into anything. She is awesome in her crate and quiet as a mouse. She is perfectly housebroken. All absolutely loves everyone she meets including the baby which she follows around trying gently to give her kisses. She has met our 3 big dogs without issue. We have not left them alone together, but in passing, they're fine. I truly don't see her having problems with the right dog. She is quiet outside and does not bark. She would be a great dog for someone in a condo that needs quiet. She loves the car and rides wonderfully. Someone will be very lucky to adopt this perfect girl.

6/10/10 -
Emma arrived today from a local shelter. She was adopted from the shelter and returned for not getting along with the older dog in the home. So, the shelter called us to see if we might be able to find her the right home. I picked her up today and the whole staff said good bye to her as they all loved her. She was an angel on the ride home, just sitting in the back watching the baby. She was very wiggly and happy to meet everyone. We will give her a few days to settle in before we try to introduce her to any of the dogs here. More updates as we get to know her.
