10/11/10 - Fancy continues to have difficulty with new situations and new people. She still appears to be frightened when we go for a walk or she meets the neighbors or kids. Sudden noises scare her and send her running. When we go to the vet everybody goes. Buster stays in the van and both skin kids help to keep her from shaking. It is very sad to see her stressed.  Our family has seen NO aggression with her at all..HOWEVER, it was obvious, from her little adventure to a new home, that she can express some when she's terrified. The damp dark basement she was forced to live in for so many years has certainly affected her. I wish I knew what happened and I wish she could tell me.
What we do know is she loves to cuddle as close as possible to us. Buster is her forever buddy, she doesn't care to play with other kids or dogs, she loves to jump on the bed and sleep with any of us as long as we are there. She understands NO, and can now sit on command. She doesn't 'get' birds or squirrels or rabbits or cats. Having said that, she is loving and cuddly sweet as syrup.  You just want to rock her and hold her and tell her how much you love her. She needs time and continuity and some one to be home to allow her to adjust at her own pace. Can you be the forever home??

- False alarm everyone.  I thought I had found my forever home but as it turns out, I didn't.  They didn't even give me 24 hrs to settle in and they gave me back.  I didn't even have time to find a favorite pee place.  You folks have to realize that when you adopt one of us, we need time to acclimate ourselves to a whole new world.  It takes us a good week to know which end is up and to just throw us into the mix the minute we walk in the door isn't fair to us or any other dog, cat, or person in that home.  We need slow introductions and some guidance from our new home to help us through the transition.  I didn't get that chance but I know that there is another home who wants me and will do things the right way and I will be forever greatful and be all that I can be to make you proud of me.  Pick up the phone and call for me....I'm ready.

9/12/10 - I was adopted today!

8/30/10 - Hey Everybody--It's Fancy the Camper. Yep, just got home from a wonderful week at Boxer Camp with my fur buddy Buster. We had the best time with our super counselors Lisa and Mike, and fur boss Sadie. It was soo cool!! I ran all around the back yard every day and met that funny thing called a "lawn mower". I was so brave and not one bit afraid. I guess all the walking around outside and hearing funky outdoor noises has helped me. In my cabin, I was not afraid to sleep alone or jump in bed with the counselors. Hee Hee. The best part, I DID NOT GO POTTY IN THE CABIN.  Wahoooo!!!  The world is really a fun place...so glad I'm done having all those puppies. Still working on learning commands and the counselors thought I should practice some when I get home. I do know SIT. We celebrated Sadie's 10th birthday with cake and had lot's of fun. I really do like having fur friends (still not sure about the feline friends). Camp is good--but going to a forever home would be the best.  Are you ready forever home??? I sure am.
FROM FOSTER: She is attached to our boy, Buster, at the stub.  They travel/play/eat/sleep together always...She would pout and be unhappy. She will not go into the crate and so we leave her in the house with Buster and we have no problems. I would venture to say "No" on the separation anxiety.  Cats--??? still a question.  Kids--yes. Crate trained--No.  Obedience trained--No.  She really is a wonderful dog ---she needs some time to warm up and will follow the other dogs examples.

- Hi all!  Sorry FM has been so busy with those skin kids.  FM says it's important that I learn the world is a bigger place than that box I was kept in for so long.  Everyday we go for a walk and I try not to be afraid of loud noises.  You know-- the chipper, the lawn mowers, the chain saws, the mini bikes, other barking dogs, garbage trucks. Frankly, I am a little better. The door bell still makes me crazy though. I just stay close to big Marma Buster.  The whole family is going on a long vacation at the end of the week so Big Bus and me we get to go to Boxer Camp at Sadie's house.  FM says this will be more experience in the world and a good test how I will do with that little problem I still have (you know, the potty thing).  I sure will miss everybody.  But it's good to make new friends. I'm sending out a post card to my new family from camp--where are you???   Love Fancy Pants

7/26/10 - WaHoo!! Fancy Pants here...I was just at the vet last Friday and no more puppies for me, no more UTI, and everything was good on the x-ray.  Doc thinks it was all to do with the hormones and all those puppies I had.  I am good to go.  I feel great!  I am such a good girl and don't require much at all.  If you want to go for a walk, ok.  If you want to lounge on the sofa, ok.  What ever you want to do, just do it with me.  I love lots of attention, hugs and kisses.  I'm ok with other dogs.  Kids are ok too!  Or not.  I really don't like a lot of noises, so I will stay close to your side for reassurance. Just fill me with love, love, love. So when ever you are ready for me forever home...come and get me.

7/12/10 - Fancy has been with us for one month today. Although she still has the UTI,  which we continue to treat, she is happy and relieved to be out of the crate and into the world.   She has come from this timid and scared little girl to a warm and loving boxer babe. Love and tenderness go a long way. She continues to follow me around and  is mostly curious about life and all the noises and smells.  She is so little that she shoots around the yard  like a bullet.  At a mere 47 pounds she looks like a big puppy and is easy to handle, especially for the kids.  She is such low maintenance.  What a gem she is for a family with or without kids.  She needs lots of hugs and kisses...and she is waiting for you.

- Miss Fancy Pants had her first visit to the vet. She was so scared and shaking that it took a little while to calm down.  She did not say a peep when they cleaned her ears and clipped her nails or when they gave her an antibiotic shot.  She has an infection in her ears, UTI, and few nasty parasites in her poop.  She is eating a little more (scrambled egg/ or wet food and dry food) but still hardly drinking.  Over the next few days, as the antibiotics kick in,  she should begin to do better.  We have made a point of introducing her to strangers, the neighbors and babysitters, she is a little frightened at first but after several minutes will go up and sniff.  She is still working on trust issues.  No kidding--after what she has been through.  She is very loving and gentle --she needs security and lots of love. Beautiful and intelligent-she will lay softly on your lap.  Please consider bringing this lovely little princess to your home...the more you love her the more she will give you.. a lifetime of unconditional devotion.

6/16/10 - Sweet little Fancy...she is such a good girl.  She is learning all the wonderful Boxer antics--jumping on the bed, sleeping on the sofa, going for a walk, getting a bath. She loves to be outside.  My nine-year old daughter walks her on the lease and Miss Fancy Pants walks like such a lady. She no longer likes staying in the crate when I leave and barks endlessly.  So I left her out and she did great. Nothing was disturbed in the house. It must be the new found freedom and bad memories of what was. The dark is still a little frightening, but a soft voice and a cuddle help.  She has a vet check Thursday  (omg they are so busy).  We are working on basic commands and house rules.  She doesn't eat much yet and doesn't sleep very well.  Still on alert for whatever. We are cuddling, hugging, kissing and belly rubbing.  Fancy is doing wonderful in just the four days she has been here. A perfect lap dog at only 47 lbs. and loves kids...

6/12/10
- Fancy arrived yesterday afternoon after a long 3 hour ride and six or so days in the shelter. What a beautiful little girl.  Petite with big brown Boxer eyes. She was a little timid about her surroundings and the noises but soon accepted her new space. We walked and walked and walked around outside- she loved it.  But when the neighborhood kids all came home she was so excited! She ate a little food and had a hard time going up and down the stairs.  But after watching big Buster, the resident, she figured it out.  Fancy also was a hesitant about the lights off at night and it appeared that she was afraid of the dark. So FM spent the night on the floor with her ( Buster loved it too).  Little Miss Fancy Pants--what a gem.  She has been through so much yet offers kisses and wiggles. We already love her.  She will be perfect for any home.. she is so well behaved. More as the days go on

Fancy was a breeding mom for a "puppy mill" backyard breeder. From what we can determine, she was kept in a basement for years, just having puppies. Its astounding what a happy girl she is even through it all....
