- Leo has arrived yesterday. Leo is so young. (Younger than what we are used to fostering.) He is loaded with energy but nond of it is destructive. Even the toys he plays with, and my slippers, are handled pretty gently by him. The greeting with my two females went well, however, the girls have zero interest in him. They both refuse to play with him and they let him know it. This doesn't stop Leo though, he will harass them to no end. It is tiresome on the girls- too much sometimes that the girls just might nip him good. Maybe this will teach him to stop.
Leo loves being here and is happy to be around other dogs and having people around. As we understand, Leo was crated most of the day due to the previous owner's schedule. She felt it was unfair to crate him for so long and gave him to rescue to for a better home. I believe he was in the house with a cat and they got along fine. Leo right now has a lot of pent up energy. He just wants to play and play. We are making it a point to walk him daily and hopefully this will help him with his energy. Not quite sure of the perfect home yet for him, but I am sure after a couple weeks of adjusting he will settle down more and fit in fine. I am sure being penned up like he was has created all this excitement and energy. He needs to be around us a lot, he just wants to fit in and is overly excited to be with a "pack". I will update on him again after a week. I will know more about this young boy for sure by then. Stayed tuned, he a a real flashy fawn beauty! |
